WRITING IS SACRED
Writing is Sacred is a workshop series dedicated to the art of seeing and expressing the sacred in everyday life. In collaboration with Chicago writers and teachers, we aim to Explore the genre of spiritual writing through community building, expert instruction, and Spiritual practice. Workshops are designed for Writers and spiritual seekers of all experiences and religious backgrounds.

Catch a glimpse of some holy sh!t through this personal essay writing workshop. Explore the genre of spiritual writing at the level of craft and technique while learning to see everyday life as a wondrously strange story worth telling. Writers and spiritual seekers of all experiences (and religious identities) are welcome. Each session will feature meditative practices, writing lessons, workshopping, and opportunities for sharing.
Taught by: Sarah Katherine Bowden
Sarah Bowden is a teaching artist, whose plays have been produced in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Stockholm. Sarah has numerous accolades including the White-Howells English Prize for Drama and the Margaret W. Baker Prize for Fiction. She holds an M.F.A. in Playwriting from Ohio University and B.A. in directing and creative writing from Beloit College, and teaches theatre and composition at Benedictine University and Prairie State College.
